Haxball "Hacks/Mods & Cheats" Malware

Posted Mon, 30 Jul 2012 10:10pm GMT

It has recently come to my attention that there's a bunch of programs being advertised as Haxball Hacks/Mods & Cheats that claims to allow you to control other people's Haxball rooms and cause other people to lag, among other things. I have investigated this software, and I've determined that the software is malicious. DO NOT INSTALL THESE PROGRAMS! THEY ARE MALWARE!.

In addition, I've spoken with basro about this software, and he says that most of the stuff that the software claims to be able to do is impossible. My testing and investigation of the software confirms this statement. By installing these progams, you are only putting yourself at risk.

Current SPHB Situation

Posted Wed, 16 May 2012 10:10pm GMT

Last night, there was an issue with the hard drive on the SPHB server. The hard drive was fixed, but unfortunately, there was some corruption of our MySQL database. I'm currently working to fix all of the issues that came from this. The SPHB website should be back in working order some time tonight.

Because of this issue, the SPHB Season 7 Semi-finals are postponed until tomorrow. The Championship will be played on Tuesday.

HaxballTube v2

Posted Fri, 24 Feb 2012 12:12am GMT

As some of you may know, HaxballTube was created the same day that Haxball added the Replay feature. I saw the opportunity to create HaxballTube, and put together the site very quickly. And because of that, it was kind of ugly. Actually, it was very ugly. And unfortunately, since then, I haven't had much time to improve the site. For the past two weeks, however, I've been working on entirely re-writing the site. The HaxballTube you see today is the result of that work. The site looks a lot better, and more importantly, the site works a lot better.

Since I added the stadium upload feature, I've noticed a problem with users trying to upload replays using the stadium uploader, and trying to upload stadiums using the replay uploader. To address this, I've designed a new upload interface that allows you to upload both replays and stadiums using the same form. Stadium uploads have been improved as well - instead of having to upload a replay with your stadium to generate a thumbnail image, I've written a script that converts stadium files into images automatically. It's not perfect yet, but it's worked fine on the stadiums I've tested it on. Stadiums can now also be downloaded much easier - there's now a Download button when viewing a stadium's page.

Most of the rest of the changes to the site are pretty minor, such as improving the search feature and adding pagination to the profile pages. If you notice any problems with anything, or have ideas for new features, feel free to let me know by commenting here.

Image Server Back Up!

Posted Fri, 27 Jan 2012 6:06am GMT

Over the past few days, you have may have noticed that thumbnail images weren't appearing. The reason is that the server we were using for generating and displaying the thumbnails crashed, and had to be moved to a different server. The new server seems to be working fine, and thumbnails are now being generated again.

Thumbnails for all old replays have been lost. However, I am in the process of regenerating all of the thumbnails, though this will take quite some time, since I only have one server working on this, and new thumbnails obviously have a higher priority. Rest assured, however, that all old thumbnails will eventually be restored. Sorry for any problems this may cause.
